January 20th, 2009...
Today marks a historical day in America. The coverage on the event in the media is overwhelming. I've heard everything from what color they are re-painting the White House walls to suit the new President's taste, to where one of Obama's little girls got that adorable tweed dress she was wearing. As a voting American, I have a right to complain about the President-elect. I have the right to complain about why certain people voted for Obama and why others voted for McCain. We all know the reasons. We all know why so many people were for Palin and so many people were against her. We all know why this country was so excited about 1-19-09..."The End of an Error" as I've heard it referred to. The truth is, this country has been going downhill very quickly. From the legalization of gay marriages, to all of the murders, school shootings, suicides, gangs, racism, hate...etc, etc... Who would have ever thought we would see a day when "Saturday Night Live" could mock the Presidential Candidates, and people could openly express hate and disrespect for the man in the White House... What happened to respecting the man in authority over this country? Even though I may not agree/care for the President-elect Obama, my heart & my prayers go out to him. Everyone is so excited that there is finally a black man in the White House. But lets go a little bit deeper with that...This man has many more responsibilities, I feel, than any other President in American History. The financial crisis...the fear of terrorism...taking over the fallen leadership of President Bush...May he have the wisdom and respect for this country that we so greatly need. He's in the White House today. No amount of complaining or hate can change that (for those of you who do not care for him)... All we can do now is show our respect for the man appointed to such a high calling. May he be the "savior" that this country needs, and may the "change" that he's promised be a positive one.

Wait...you mean you didn't vote for Obama?!?! ;) Only kidding.
Spoken like a true daughter of an ultraconservative, gun-toting republican! Seriously, I'm proud of your comments....if you can't respect the officer, you must still respect the office!
